Awkwafina

Awkwafina the American singer and actress began with humorous raps that addressed racial identities and sexuality. Before expanding to Hollywood she came out with a series of rap tracks. Nora Lum, born in Forest Hills Queens to Chinese and Korean immigrants, was her initial musical encounter. She was a trumpet player. She also received the classical and jazz education later becoming a hip-hop teenager. At college, she was studying the field of women's studies and journalism. It was also during this time that she spent an hour studying Mandarin at the University of Beijing. It wasn't until after graduating that she shifted her focus towards music. In 2012 her track My Vag a response to Mickey Avalon's My Dick found viral success through the Internet eventually landing on her debut LP Yellow Ranger in 2014. This album also featured popular hits that went viral, such as body positive Queef and the winking tour of her hometown New York Bitche$. This track was also used in the Awkwafina's NYC tour guide that was released in the year 2015. Once she had established herself as a musician, and author who wrote books, she took on the role of actor. She's appeared in movies including Neighbors 2, Storks and Bad Rap. She had a breakthrough role in 2018 with a few prominent films, like Dude Ocean's 8 and Crazy Rich Asians. The EP was released in June.
